DVCS has been helping Canberrans impacted by family and domestic violence since 1988, providing emergency and long-term support services. DVCS is an inclusive service working with children, young people and adults, free of charge to everyone in need, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, immigration status or socioeconomic, religious and ethnic background. DVCS services include a 24/7 telephone crisis service, safety planning, security upgrades, help with legal and court matters and support programs for those who've experienced or witnessed violence and those who want to stop using violence. In addition to supporting clients, our team provides education and training in relation to what family, domestic and intimate partner violence is, how to prevent it, support someone experiencing it and how DVCS engages with the ACT landscape.
