About Domestic Violence Intervention Collaborative (Dvic)
DVIC is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded in 2005 to fill an identified gap in services for families with histories of domestic violence. Families who were involved in the Santa Clara County Family or Dependency Courts and simply were not getting all the domestic violence supports or services necessary to help them maintain safety and gain recovery from the trauma of domestic violence. Since that time, DVIC staff, in a unique collaboration with the courts, has been present at Court to assist and support parents. We want to help parents break the cycle of domestic violence so that children can grow up in a healthier environment with hope for a better future. To this end, DVIC provides information and connection with a variety of resources which range from classes and groups, to emergency sheltering, and transitional housing, to low / no cost legal services, and to and funding resources for therapy and relocation. These follow-up services are available for parents involved in the court process as well as to the entire community. DVIC provides training and consultation to staff of the Department of Family and Children’s services, the Court and to the larger community based organizations and professionals.
