About DontHit.org
DontHit.org provides resources to survivors of intimate crimes and their supporters with no strings attached in a non-harmful way. The hit in DontHit refers to harm that everyone around a victim does unconsciously when they learn of the horrible events that caused someone to ask for help. Our learning resources help law enforcement, friends, family, and other community members learn how to interact with survivors to help them get their life back without victimizing them further. DontHit.org merged with Village of Life in February of 2022. Village of Life, Inc. was founded in 2010 as a non-profit organization whose mission was to empower low income, single women and their children to reach their full potential by providing safe affordable housing. Many of the client we supported were women who escaped domestic violence. For that reason, we made the decision to combine resources with Don’t Hit.org to better serve our clients while continuing to empower them to make a better life for themselves and their children.
