About Donut Safety Systems
Donut International Ltd (and Donut Safeland Ltd) are the designers and manufacturers of the Donut personal controlled descent device. Primarily designed for Installation abandonment when conventional means are not available, however the device has also been used on derrick escape, crane escape and wind turbine escape both onshore and offshore. Donut is a simple, lightweight device designed as a tertiary last means of escape from an offshore Installation. It enables personnel to escape by means of individual controlled descent once the device has been attached to a load bearing structure. It is easy to use, lightweight, easily transported and does not rely on physical strength or manual dexterity to use like other escape methods. It can be deployed anywhere on an Installation or Vessel. Reliability is unmatched as there are no mechanical moving parts to fail. The system is cost effective, each unit is designed to last the lifetime of an asset and they can be transferred across projects/installations. The Donut personal controlled descent device is now seen as the industry standard in personal escape. Units have been deployed in the field for over 30 years from the extreme heat conditions of the middle east to the extreme cold of Canada.
