About DoughMain Financial Literacy Foundation
As a nonprofit, our mission is to prepare today's students for a lifetime of financial responsibility through engaging programs delivered to schools & homes. We believe that all students and teachers deserve access to quality financial education materials. We work closely with educators, administrators, business leaders, community organizations and families to dramatically improve financial education and close the financial literacy gap in the United States. Our cross-discipline team of educators is developing an engaging interactive teaching program that is both comprehensive and fun, and meets all core curriculum national and state financial education standards. The FitKit is a 20-lesson turnkey financial literacy curriculum focused on giving high school students a comprehensive economic and financial literacy education and is available to schools nationwide at no cost. The FitKit high school financial literacy program has been designed to engage students through: Interactive games in which students immerse themselves in a growing a micro-economy: moving money, managing income, budgeting expenses, and investing in business. Group activities in which students collaborate and engage in the active discussion of economic choices and consequences. Student-generated questions that drive instruction and connect the simulation experience to the real world. We also offer online games and a virtual curriculum for students to use at home either independently or as a supplement to the youth financial literacy program, the FitKit.
