My independent company provides quality investment consulting advice in the Australian financial services industry to institutional, retail and high net worth clients. This advice is underpinned by over 30 years executive experience in macroeconomics, fund research and asset allocation at 'blue chip' firms such as Merrill Lynch, van Eyk Research and Perpetual Private. Since 2001, I've conducted hundreds of manager reviews and thousands of meetings both domestically and overseas across all significant asset classes. When combined with insights from understanding the investment cycle in different economic regimes, the relatively small group of talented investment managers can be identified for detailed due diligence while risky managers and sectors can be avoided. Areas of business focus for Douglas Funds Consulting include: * strategic fund and investment research, for example, designing fund and ETF research processes for financial advisory groups; * individual investment manager or fund reviews with clients including a leading retail rating house; * asset allocation analysis at both strategic and tactical levels; * investment committee roles; and * 'fund manager whispering', coaching fund managers to prepare for assessment by rating houses and asset consultants.
