ABOUT MYSELF I am a medical doctor trained in Australia with an experience of nearly 25 years as a consultant, general physician, hospitalist and emergency clinician. I believe in the old saying "Prevention is better than cure"! To fight the enemy, one needs to know the enemy, similarly, to fight a disease, we must know about it to detect it in its very initial stage, well before it becomes a full-blown "disease". I am passionate about health education among the common man and raising awareness about the understanding of general health, understanding common diseases, symptoms, and signs, and when to see a doctor before it's too late. Health Literacy: Improving health information and encouraging informed decision-making. MY VISION My vision is to raise health literacy in common men at their non-medical level so that they can "protect" themselves, their families, and their loved ones from an oncoming storm of diseases, long before it knocks on their doorstep when it is too late. By empowering common men with health education, it would enable them to keep a "check" on their health and also health of their family members and loved ones. I believe the best way to manage a patient is to educate him about his disease and his ailment, at his non-medical level, in understandable terms. This enables them to know what symptoms and signs to look for, see the doctor for early signs, participate in their healthcare decisions, and adhere to treatment plans. This results in better communication between healthcare providers and patients, leading to improved overall health outcomes.
