Dr. Wesley Pool and Associates have a Mission Statement to: "Evaluate and Advance the Health, Fitness, and Safety of Firefighters, Paramedics, and EMS Members". We accomplish our mission through the application of our Science-Based Learning Program, including a Health & Fitness Assessment Program. Academically, our program covers subjects that raise understanding, motivation, and compliance with a healthier and safer lifestyle, mentally and physically. Firefighters have a higher than normal risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular disease, and a range of respiratory diseases. This is primarily due to lengthy exposure to high heat, toxic smoke, and noxious fumes. Firefighters require strength, healthy respiratory systems, good balance, and endurance since their job entails pulling, pushing, climbing, and even running in heavy protective gear. We uncompromisingly prepare them for those tasks. We certify your appointed number of Firefighters, EMTs, or Paramedics, through our National Health & Fitness Trainers Institute as Health & Fitness Trainers. These Trainers, in turn, help your Members stay on track, post-program. We maintain overall supervision of Members by linking your smartphones, tablets, or computers with our Health, Fitness, and Nutrition software. Our software is password protected and collects data from the member's training and nutrition log. We become the Health and Fitness Coordinator for our clients under the National Fire Protection Association Standard 1583. Our program is designed to overcome the high attrition and non-compliance rates which tends to follow other firms and organizations which simply lecture on health and fitness, and then disappear, leaving their client Departments without ongoing support. We believe in earning our pay by effectually lowering the high number of on-the-job injuries, and decreasing health-related illness and disease. We serve you by teaching new knowledge and skills, so you may better serve others.
