About Drink Quorum

Quorum was conceived in the bizarreness of 2020 by passionate industry professionals. After a seismic 18 months of tariffs, climate change-driven forest fires, and lockdowns, what we missed the most were raucous dinner parties, squeezing an extra chair around the corner leg, ordering ‘one for the table.’ We missed natural wine, classic wine, warm vintages, off vintages, boxed wine, Burgundy, Riesling, dry fermented Gewurztraminer and so on because we missed sharing it with kindreds. We were reminded that the story of sharing wine is as important as the story of the wine itself. We believe that it’s possible, essential, and profitable to bring the joy of gathering to the front of beverage distribution. The current American distribution culture continues to be driven by a post-prohibition allegiance to isolating the product from the consumer. That can be amended by humanizing and prioritizing each party—winemakers, importers, distributors, wine shops/restaurants, and consumers—instead of commodifying them. This sort of transparency is overdue, not revolutionary. And is ultimately fiscally beneficial on all levels. Play, intellect, and joy are central to our work. We’re excited to change the rules by cultivating a Quorum of like-minded people who are interested in movement, progress, and inclusion. We’re committed to making work that sounds like the first violin pull of a tuning orchestra or the hum of a busy kitchen. The wines we represent are made by people we’d be honored to host at our homes. Respect for heritage, history, soil, varietal, and vinification manifests in so many ways. That respect is paired with reverence for the future. It makes for good story telling. We are fueled by a curiosity of the human condition, a commitment to bottom-up inclusivity, and trust in the ensuing profitability. We believe this round table is limitlessly expandable.
