About Dropinsea

Dropinsea is a social enterprise dedicated to providing long-term water access solutions for rural communities in South Africa. We focus on building water independence, empowering communities to manage their own water security. Our journey began in 2017 with a WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) program specifically targeting the needs of vulnerable women and children in Boschfontein, a village in the Nkomazi region. We quickly recognized the need for a more sustainable approach. Our current model tackles water insecurity at its source. We partner with local drilling firms to repair existing boreholes, a critical water source for Boschfontein. But it doesn't stop there. During these repairs, we ensure skilled community members receive comprehensive training on borehole maintenance. This empowers the community to address future issues themselves, fostering self-reliance and long-term water security. Join us on our mission!
