Droplets In A Stream (DIAS) 🌍 Rewriting futures for East Africa’s most vulnerable children. Since 2008, DIAS has walked alongside visionary leaders and communities in Uganda and Kenya, supporting change that begins with one child and grows into hope for entire communities. We believe that with a strong start in safety, health, and education, children can begin to break the cycle of poverty and build meaningful futures for themselves and those around them. Our small but passionate volunteer team is based in Queensland, Australia. Twice a year, we travel to East Africa to listen, learn, and work alongside our partners. We focus on three core pillars in partnership with trusted grassroots organisations: Education: building schools, supporting teachers, and ensuring children in slum communities have access to learning. Healthcare and Trauma Recovery: funding clinics, nurses, and medical care, and standing with survivors of child sacrifice, trafficking, and abuse. Child Protection: walking with rescued children, reuniting them with families, supporting social workers, and ensuring every child has a safe adult by their side. Our approach is not project-driven but people-driven. We believe local leaders know their communities best, and our role is to lighten their burden, amplify their impact, and stand with them. Since 2008, schools and classrooms have been built, clinics have opened, children have been reunited with families, and communities have grown stronger. The challenges remain, but so does the progress. Step by step, brighter futures are being written. DIAS is an ACNC-registered nonprofit in Australia, committed to ensuring 100% of public donations go directly to the work on the ground.
