From day one Ted set out to make products to be at least ‘Double-the-life’. He first invented steel Broom Handle Holders (clamps) to fit on standard broom heads. Once fitted to a wooden broom head, handles then fit into a strong welded metal protruding socket. The initial design was taken to the Bath and West Show in the late 1950’s, it proved to be an instant hit. Ted gave up the day job and improved upon the current ‘one man’ production operation from his garage! The handmade yard range grew from there as he quickly followed up inventing the Yard Squeegee, 100% designed to move liquids and solids combined on a variety of firm surfaces. The independent company continues to be run by members of Ted’s extended family. All products have always been designed and handmade using the best materials to deliver consistent quality products all handmade in our Somerset factory. As all designs are at least ‘Double-the-life’, say it really quickly, with a Somerset accent and you are about right for Dub’l-lif. In our Somerset factory we control production schedules and manufacturing volumes with the flexibility to tailor products to individual industry specifications. We have squeegees with serrated blades developed for specific use when top dressing road surfaces. We therefore look forward to product design opportunities and the future. Suppling mainly direct to wholesalers and the trade in bulk, across the UK and internationally. Our range includes; Squeegee Yard Scrapers, Straight, Curved and Winged, in multiple widths, to move a combination of liquids and solids; bespoke Serrated Squeegees for spreading resin during road surface dressing; Broom Handle Holders and Broom Clamps to extend the lives of broom heads / handles; practical robust grates, brushes and jacks for cleaning and removing muddy footwear; Snow Pushers - break up compacted snow and ice, simply flipped over, they reveal a flexible rubber blade to push the slush simply away.
