About Dublin Roller Derby
Dublin Roller Derby (DRD) is Ireland’s first roller derby league, founded in 2009. Since then – the league has grown to over 90 members, competing and officiating internationally. In 2015, we became members of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). We have three travel Teams: A Team, B Team, C Team. All three teams compete internationally and can often be see jetting off around Europe and the USA. Our A Team is the only Irish team to compete outside of Europe, recently placing 4th in Division 2 Playoffs 2017! They are currently 11th in Europe and 49th in the world WFTDA rankings (as per Feb 2018). Our B and C Teams are steadily climbing the International ladders themselves, currently ranked 75th and 138th (keep an eye on Flat Track Stats for the most current up to date rankings!). We also have three Father Ted themed home teams: the Eoin McShoves, the Fuppin’ Baxtards and the Whack Hacketts who battle it out in the most intensely competitive home tournament every year. Our Officials, both in the form of referees and NSOs (non skating officials) are among some of the best in Europe and the World, representing Dublin Roller Derby in Playoffs, Championships and the World Cup.
