About Duluth Transit Authority
The DTA has a rich history of providing safe, convenient, efficient and affordable public transit service. The system today features 23 routes in Duluth, Superior, Proctor and Hermantown. Our annual operating budget is approximately $14 Million. The DTA has a fleet of 70 fixed-route buses featuring seven new electric buses. The DTA is proud to offer the highest level of customer service to our riders. Bus Operators are trained to provide assistance to passengers and Information Operators can be reached at 218-722-7283 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to answer route and schedule questions. Passengers can provide customer feedback using the online comment form or call one of the Information Operators. There are several major transit stops within the DTA system. These locations offer amenities for passengers such as Transit Vending Machines (TVM) and detailed system maps. The Duluth Transportation Center (DTC) has an information desk where you can purchase bus passes and ask questions. Most DTA Transit Hubs also have passenger hand schedules for the entire transit system. STRIDE is dial-a-ride transportation service for qualified individuals with disabilities in the Twin Ports. It operates in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). STRIDE operates within 3/4 of a mile from the DTA’s regular routes. STRIDE fare is $3 during peak hours and $1.50 during off-peak hours and weekends. All regular-route buses are equipped with “kneeling steps” and retractable ramps for easy boarding. This makes buses accessible for all passengers including those with wheelchairs, scooters, strollers, walkers, crutches, and canes. Discover Duluth on the DTA Port Town Trolley! For a modest $.50-cent fare, visitors can tour Canal Park, Bayfront Park and downtown Duluth. The Port Town Trolley runs the first week in June through Labor Day.
