About Dundee and Lee
Dundee & Lee is a woman- and veteran-owned creative studio based in rural Colorado. We create large-scale fiber-based public art and public design projects that combine sculpture, storytelling, and creative placemaking. Our work brings handcrafted, immersive environments into public life—sparking joy, dialogue, and connection across generations. Our touring exhibition Goodnight Moon – A Fiber Tale reimagines the beloved children’s book as a life-sized fiber diorama, built from over 152 miles of yarn. Presented under a gratis license from HarperCollins, the exhibition is on tour across Colorado. It continues to engage audiences of all ages as a joyful, tactile celebration of one of America’s most cherished stories—while promoting early childhood literacy through live performance and public programming. Our newest project, Space Cowboy, is a 10-foot-tall rocket ship in a cowboy hat—a whimsical fiber sculpture that celebrates Colorado’s Western heritage and its leadership in aerospace innovation. Launching Fall 2025 in Durango, it will serve as a mobile public artwork designed to inspire wonder and spark community storytelling. We are currently building the statewide tour, with a focus on rural towns and Certified Creative Districts. What Goodnight Moon does for literacy, Space Cowboy does for STE(A)M—bridging imagination and education through accessible, story-driven design. We collaborate with libraries, theaters, science centers, makerspaces, and nonprofits to activate our work through site-specific programming, multilingual access tools, and interactive storytelling. Every project we create is hand-built, place-based, and designed to be shared. Dundee & Lee turns fiber into frameworks—for public art, civic imagination, and community connection. We don’t just make art in public. We make public art work.
