About Durham Junior Cotillion

Our program is for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and includes instruction in social skills, etiquette and ballroom dancing. Self-confidence, kind behavior, and reinforcement of parental teachings are what we hope to instill in each child. Our classes take place in the fall at Hope Valley Country Club on Monday nights. Durham Junior Cotillion approaches etiquette and manners as important life skills. Our curriculum is based on exposure and practice. Each year skill work builds in complexity. We cover topics from greetings and handshakes, conversation cues and starters, table settings and mechanics, note writing, cell phone etiquette, dancing, how to navigate social media, and much more. All are welcome and we firmly believe that these classes should be fun! We are also thrilled to announce online Cotillion registration and payment is now available through our website. We accept payment by credit card, ApplePay, and GooglePay with no convenience fees applied. We’re excited to offer this streamlined way for parents to connect to our classes.
