About Dusu Holdings
DUSU started as a property investment company funded by the owners and managers of Workz. Workz was created by the divestiture of Brightpoint Middle East’s handset distribution, fulfillment and FONO retail operations from Brightpoint Inc. [NASDAQ: CELL] in 2005. Brightpoint was Nokia’s third largest handset distributor globally at the time. BPME operated distribution facilities in Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong. FONO was Brightpoint Dubai’s partnership with the Al Maktoum family supporting Nokia retail handset sales channel. FONO owned or operated over 20 branded telecom retail stores in the Middle East and Gulf States. Axiom Telecom UAE, led by Faisal al Bannai, acquired FONO in its entirety. Workz spun off interest in the Nokia handset distribution and repair business via a SPV (Persequor) which was quickly reacquired by Brightpoint. Workz repositioned its offering, moving away from handset distribution to focusing on telecom network operators and their supply chain challenges. Workz built a telecoms card manufacturing facility in Dubai Production City where it became a global leader in SIM, eUICC, recharge cards and IOT device provisioning shipping over a billion cards annually. Workz customer base grew to over 150 mobile network operators and their ecosystem support partners globally and included Zain, Etisalat, Du, Econet, MTN, Batelco, Omantel, Watanya, Kigen, ARM, STC, Mobility and Virgin Mobile. Trasna Holdings, led by entrepreneur Stephane Fund, acquired Workz regional SIM and recharge card operations and global eSIM provisioning business in a two stage process starting in 2019. Workz name was changed to Trasna. DUSU is currently focused on private investments, education and promoting generational success.
