About DVHS Robotics
The Dougherty Valley High School Robotics Club provides our members with an extensive education in robotics and engineering. Our student-run organization was founded in 2007 with the goal of inspiring and building upon interests in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Since then, we've participated in dozens of tournaments, won well over 100 awards, and have consistently competed in the VEX world championships. In doing so, we've actively cultivated a steady platform for ourselves throughout the VEX Robotics medium. Our organization directs two annual events open to individuals in the Bay Area and Northern California. The summer camp, where Bay Area middle school students learn robotics through VEX IQ, and our annual tournament where NorCal VRC teams compete at the regional level. Our organization also conducts three year-long programs in our local community, the boost, novice, and competitive team programs. In doing so, DVHS Robotics spreads our experiences in VEX Robotics to incoming generations, thus furthering our reach into the engineering community and inspiring the application of STEM concepts in the lives of the next generation of robotics enthusiasts. Members apply their knowledge of VEX Robotics through building, CADing, programming, and public speaking, as they progress through the Regional, California State, and World Championships. The competitive program consists of 5 teams, 5776A, 5776E, 5776K, 5776T, and 5776X. Our competitive teams share an extensive history of ingenuity, and continue to make strides throughout the VEX Robotics Competition by exhibiting overall excellence in all aspects of the engineering process. The Dougherty Valley High School Robotics Club strives to promote STEM education throughout the Bay Area in order to help promote the application of STEM and VEX Robotics in the everyday lives of youth, thus cultivating a new generation of robotics enthusiasts.
