About Eagle Institute for Global Affairs and Leadership
The Eagle Institute for Global Affairs and Leadership is an educational management non-profit that seeks to educate high school students about the realities of international politics, debate, and ethical decision-making. The Eagle Institute, driven by its core values of education, community, and innovation, strives to educate future leaders by creating programming that will simulate crisis experiences that they will encounter in positions of power. The organization was founded in 2011 and hosted its first annual conference, EagleMUNC, in December of 2012. By 2016, the conference was lauded by Best Delegate as the "Best Kept Secret in Model UN" and as the "Most innovative Conference in the Circuit." In 2015, the organization launched a second brach, the Eagle Global Leadership Initiative (EGLI), to pursue a new mission of expanding the reach of the Eagle Institute's values into Boston Public Schools' classrooms. It focuses on bringing the experiential, global-aware education of Model UN to students and schools that may not otherwise have the financial means to attend major conferences or maintain Model UN teams.
