About Eagle Valley Land Trust
The local land conservation organization of Eagle County, Colorado. Eagle Valley Land Trust (EVLT) is dedicated to serving the local community and conservation at large. EVLT protects land permanently to build a legacy for this generation and those to come. EVLT is proud to hold over 11,000 acres in conservation through 36 different conservation easements. This includes 35 miles of public trails, 10,500 acres of critical wildlife habitat, and 10.5 miles of river access. EVLT is motivated to establish a protected open space within a walk or bike ride from the work or home of every Eagle County resident. At evlt.org/places, a list of publicly-accessible properties and suggested activities is available. EVLT protects the land and facilitates community engagement and collective ownership of community open spaces. EVLT promotes community conservation in two ways. The Community Land Connection (CLC) Series consists of free community events that include historical hikes, nature bathing, restoration projects, and guided naturalist walks. The Future Conservationists program is a youth-focused program that provides engaging lessons on land protection and environmental stewardship to youth across Eagle County. To learn more about events in your area, check out evlt.org/events.
