About Early Recognition Is Critical (E.R.I.C.)
Early Recognition is Critical, Inc.(E.R.I.C.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that focuses on building grassroots, community-led programs to promote global public health. Our specific focus is on early detection and prevention of cancer through empowering individuals and communities that may have limited access to physicians, hospitals, and the advanced imaging tools that most American citizens take for granted. We utilize a hub & spoke model, where E.R.I.C. provides seed funding and Technical Assistance to support the launch and progression toward sustainability of international chapters, based on ERIC’s Playbook for Global Cancer Control programs, with the ultimate goal of reducing morbidity and mortality from cancer in the communities where we are working. Our primary goals across all of our Global Public Health partnerships are: 1) Prevention and early detection of cancer through empowering global communities to improve their understanding of strategies for early detection of cancer; and 2) Disseminating education on strategies to maintain healthy lifestyles–thereby reducing the cancer burden in the communities we target.
