About Earth Day Oregon

Oregon is a special corner of the planet, full of wonderfully diverse landscapes and people. We all stand to benefit from healthy environments, equitable communities, and sustainable economies everywhere in our state. Together, the impact we create each year in honor of Earth Day can accelerate Oregon toward achieving these common goals. Earth Day Oregon organizes a statewide coalition of partners that inspires collective giving and action on April 22nd every year—to amplify the impact of local nonprofits who make Earth Day their every day. Earth Day Oregon's nonprofit partners advance diverse, intersecting missions that advance one or more of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in Oregon and beyond—from healthy ecosystems to climate action, just communities, clean energy, vibrant economies, quality education, and more (https://sdgs.un.org/goals). Through the annual Earth Day Oregon campaign, we: 1. Build Capacity: Bring attention and donations to Oregon nonprofits whose intersecting work is advancing sustainability. 2. Build Community: Foster lasting connections between nonprofits, businesses, and community members. 3. Build a Movement: Grow the tradition of Earth Day as an inclusive occasion to realize equity and sustainability through statewide partnership and action. Since launching as a nonprofit in 2018, Earth Day Oregon has facilitated over $700,000 in donations to nonprofit partners from hundreds of business partners and the public. Over 5,000 people participated in partners' events for Earth Day Oregon 2022. For Earth Day Oregon 2023, we aim to raise half a million dollars for the 100+ participating nonprofit partners across the state.
