About Earth Sessions

Earth Sessions are community driven climate justice concerts and workshops that combine music and environmental education activations to build community, celebrate the role of art in movements of change and provide joyful + diverse climate justice education to new audiences. By tapping into the power of art to bring people together, we created opportunities for our community to connect offline in safe and joyful spaces. Through this series, we are able to amplify and financially support the contributions of collaborators spanning POC QT/BIPOC musicians, photographers, filmmakers, designers, and more to support the revival of revolutionary gathering in hopes of providing joyful + diverse climate justice education to new audiences to nurture community driven resiliency. Our goals are to build community around equity and environment in an immersive alternative educational experience. Powered by, and in partnership with Intersectional Environmentalist, Earth Sessions partners with universities, environmental justice community organizations, students and artists to create gatherings. We educate attendees about the environmental justice issues in their community, connect them with leaders creating change, inspire them to act and to build community around music. We've held events in The Bay Area in California, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn nyc - but plan to expand to additional locations in the U.S. Since rolling out Earth Sessions in April 2022, we've produced over a dozen concerts across the US, reached over 1M people online and in person, gave away more than 800 books + educational resources, and spotlighted dozens of local musicians and grassroots environmental justice organizations. Some of these folx include artist-activists Raveena, Xiuhtezcatl, and Bedouine, as well as BIPOC-led nonprofit organizations, The Hood Hikers, Harlem Grown, Future Earth, and Good Life Garden.
