About Earthrise Law Center
Earthrise’s mission is to preserve the environment by providing expert, pro bono legal services for conservation groups, and training highly talented law students through direct involvement in cases. Earthrise secures environmental victories by tenaciously pursuing litigation and using other legal tools to establish positive legal precedent. Earthrise’s docket contains a wide range of matters touching on our overarching program areas of water, air, public lands, and wildlife. We select our cases based primarily on their potential to set important legal precedent, meet a critical environmental need, and provide the best possible educational opportunities for our students. Lewis & Clark law students enrolled in our clinic gain real-world experience in all phases of public interest environmental litigation, from investigation and legal research to brief-writing and motions practice.
