About East End Hospice
East End Hospice (EEH) improves the lives of terminally ill patients, caregivers, and grieving families through expert care, comfort, and compassion. Since our certification in 1991, EEH has been Eastern Long Island’s only independent, not-for-profit hospice provider. Licensed professionals and trained volunteers care for patients across 450+ square miles and at our Kanas Center for Hospice Care, the region’s only dedicated hospice facility. EEH supports more than 800 terminally ill patients, their caregivers, families and friends, and hundreds of bereavement clients each year, all at no cost. Licensed professionals and more than 160 trained volunteers care for more than 800 patients; support caregivers, family, and friends; and provide grief and bereavement services to hundreds of community members annually. EEH maintains high caregiver satisfaction ratings and routinely meets or exceeds national benchmarks. EEH is a four-star hospice, according to Medicare.gov’s Care Compare website. The Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State recognized EEH as a 2021 Top 10 Hospice. HEALTHCAREfirst has awarded EEH Honors Hospice status every year since the program launch in 2016. East End Hospice is also the region’s leading bereavement and grief counseling provider. The Zinberg Family Bereavement Center supports hundreds of community members annually. Licensed therapists with extensive clinical experience offer counseling and programming for adults and children.
