East Tennessee Health Information Network (etHIN) is a non-profit, community-based Health Information Exchange established in 2005 to serve the information needs of healthcare providers in a primary 28-county region in eastern Tennessee. etHIN’s purpose is to improve care quality, patient safety and outcomes for our citizens while facilitating lower cost of whole person healthcare delivery within our communities. We will achieve this by aggregating and securely exchanging health information for the benefit and wellbeing of the people living in our communities. etHIN uses state-of-the-art technology to provide quick access to patient information by authorized providers, providing real-time access for medical decision-making, treatment and care coordination. etHIN makes health information sharing available to members of its trusted healthcare community, including physicians, clinics, diagnostic centers, hospitals, long term care facilities, home health and hospice, EMS, public health agencies, and other point-of-care type organizations in Tennessee.
