About East West IR Consulting
I am the Founder of East West IR Consulting, a bilingual boutique dedicated to strengthening the connection between Japanese companies and global investors. With more than 25 years in Japan, I bring a career that spans IR, PR, credit ratings, ESG ratings, and sell-side equity research, experience no other professional in Japan can match. I have led IR and PR at ORIX, Shinsei Bank, and PayPay, overseen ESG ratings and governance for over 10K companies at MSCI, covered financial ratings at Moody’s, and built equity research expertise at BofA Merrill Lynch. Most recently, I served as Country Head, Sodali Japan. I also serve as President of Park Place Residences, a Canadian real estate business I started, giving me both a boardroom and owner perspective on creating value. At East West IR Consulting, clients work directly with me. There is no frustration with employee turnover, no need to chase multiple contacts, and no inflated fees. With a maximum of ten clients, I provide focused, senior-level attention and consistent accountability. Our work centers on three interrelated areas, all designed to improve IR and corporate value: 1. IR Advisory Designing IR strategies that meet global expectations and deliver clear, consistent disclosure. Value: Strong IR builds credibility, supports fair valuation, reduces volatility, and ensures efficient capital access. 2. Governance, ESG, and Ratings Advisory Advising on how governance practices, ESG performance, and credit ratings shape trust and funding. Value: Transparent communication enhances reputation, attracts long-term investors, and lowers financing costs. 3. Cross-Border Shareholder Engagement Bridging cultural and market gaps between Japanese corporates and international investors. Value: Effective engagement prevents misunderstandings, strengthens alignment, and expands access to global capital. The outcome is clear: greater trust, fairer valuation, stronger reputation, and a lower cost of capital.
