About Eastern Landlords Association

Factual, fast and friendly support and advice for landlords. In 1989 a small number of Norwich landlords formed a group which has since grown into a company limited by guarantee – The Eastern Landlords Association. Membership is drawn from throughout England and now numbers over 1,400 reputable private residential landlords who offer good quality accommodation. The Association has an office in Norwich where we have full time staff that can be contacted for general membership enquiries or helpline advice (for members) Monday – Friday 9am until 5pm or by email. The annual membership fee is £70. Services ELA members receive: Free help and advice line, member access to our website for information, forms, template letters etc. We provide ASTs (£2 a pair) and other paperwork (free set in joining pack). We run a tenant find service, tenant credit checks (£20 per applicant), credit checks with references (£30 per applicant) or £35 per applicant if a guarantor is required. Quarterly magazine, regular email updates of all issues relevant to a landlord. ELA branch meetings with guest speakers, across the region, regular courses for landlords. We are closely associated with Foster’s solicitors who offer our members a discount on their fees. Discounts with Vincent Burch (mortgage broker), Abate (pest control), Curry’s, Birchwood Energy and RCR Fire Services. We are also closely associated with Lovewell Blake a firm of accountants. We run monthly free 15 min slot legal surgeries, members can attend the office or phone in to speak to a solicitor. Also, occasional tax/money related surgeries, same arrangements as for our legal surgeries to speak to an accountant. We have 2 specialist Landlord insurance providers who give discounts to our members and occasional insurance surgeries legal expense cover, including tax investigation cover for the named member of the ELA.
