About Easterseals Central Texas
Easterseals Central Texas (ESCT) is a local nonprofit, which works to meet the needs of children and adults with disabilities, through critical, patient-centered services to 21 counties in Central Texas. We envision our clients having access and opportunities to reach their full potential. There are currently 185,000 Central Texans living with a disability. These could be your family, friends, and neighbors. Many of them may not have access to services and resources they need to live, play and contribute in their community. We are working to change that. ESCT has served the community for more than 78 years and continues to promote independence and create opportunities for people with disabilities to pursue their hopes and dreams. Services are organized into four areas of care. - Early Childhood Intervention services are provided to children ages birth to three with disabilities or developmental delays. Early intervention specialists provide services in the child's natural environment in order to ensure children reach developmental milestones. - Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation provides affordable medically prescribed: bilingual physical, occupational, and speech therapy; audiology; and social work services to children and adults with disabilities. - Workforce Development provides job opportunities and computer literacy for adults with disabilities with the goal of increasing self-sufficiency and community integration. - Community and Housing Services Program provides housing supports, assistive technology, advocacy, barrier removal and public education opportunities for people with disabilities.
