About Easterseals of the Birmingham Area
The mission of Easterseals of the Birmingham Area is to create solutions that change the lives of children and adults with disabilities or other special needs and their families. We are continually advocating for persons with disabilities in the community and are encouraged at the positive outcomes our efforts, programs, and services have on the people we serve and the community at large. We provide employment services to adolescents and adults with disabilities offering vocational assessment and counseling, employment opportunities, job readiness training, computer skills training, job coaching, and advocacy in the business community. Our Pediatric department provides speech, physical, and occupational therapy to children 0-21. They also offer assistive feeding therapy and sensory integration. There are summer camp experiences to therapeutic interventions into a practical application while providing a fun and safe environment. We offer a Medical Assistance Grant which pays up to $500.00 for medical items. We sponsor kids to Camp ASCCA, an Easterseals Alabama Affiliate which provides camping experiences, such as swimming, canoeing, zip line, etc to kids with disabilities.
