Still privately owned, EBC Brakes (Freeman Automotive UK Ltd.) is a world leader in the manufacture of disc brake wear components. Back in the early 80s, EBC Brakes was the first to develop a complete aftermarket range for the motorcycle industry. We supply the majority of the world aftermarket volume in motorcycle brake and clutch parts, with continued innovations such as the adoption of the NUCAP NRS hook system for back plates, the world’s first chrome plated back plates, the worlds first semi-sintered Vee pad range, and numerous innovations in the motorcycle brake rotor market. Expanding rapidly in the automotive industry, EBC Brakes has become a world leader in sport, high-performance and race brake pads, and discs/rotors with a massive trademark range of products. EBC launched another ground breaking material with its ECO friendly Ultimax 2 brake friction material that completely eliminated all heavy metals and sulfides. Recent additions to the range from the EBC Racing brand include RP-1 and RP-X full race pads, fully-floating two-piece discs and Balanced Big Brake Kits. EBC produces 100% of its brake pad range in its own factories in the UK and USA, 100% of its own motorcycle brake discs/rotors in its UK facility, and a huge proportion of its automotive brake discs are also UK and USA made.
