Socioeconomic and Gender Equity Years of experience working in technology have seen the good, and the bad of the IT industry. Most significant of which is an acute awareness of the disparate rates of hiring, and retention, of women in tech. Increased focus on volunteering in K-12 is making it clear that the employees of today were shaped by the education system of yesterday. To fix these issues for the employees of tomorrow, we must start today to fix the gaping holes in our educational system's processes for investigating and resolving discrimination. When we can do that, we will fling open the doors of opportunity to everyone, the way education was meant to do.
