Eco Tan was born out of a personal journey to find a safer, healthier alternative to traditional tanning products. Founder Sonya Driver became determined to create a solution after her sister Rachael was diagnosed with melanoma at just 30 years old. With no organic self-tanning options available, Sonya was alarmed by the potential health risks associated with conventional products — especially in the context of Rachael's deep scar from surgery. "I became consumed with finding a safe tanning alternative after my sister’s diagnosis. Not only was there no certified organic option, but I was shocked to discover the harmful ingredients in many products on the market. I was deeply concerned about what we were putting on our skin — especially when it came to Rachael’s sensitive scar," says Sonya Driver, Founder. Driven by this urgency, Sonya set out to develop a range of tanning and body care products that were both effective and free from toxic chemicals. The result was Eco Tan, a pioneering line of certified organic products that now includes tanning, skincare, body care, and natural makeup. Alongside Eco Tan, Sonya created Eco by Sonya Driver, her own line of organic body care products that align with her commitment to transparency, sustainability, and the health of our skin. Sonya's mission is simple: to provide beauty solutions that are good for both the body and the environment, without compromise. "I wasn’t willing to use these products on my own skin, and I certainly wasn’t prepared to risk my sister’s health," Sonya reflects. "This passion became Eco Tan — a brand dedicated to offering safe, organic alternatives for everyone."
