History: The amazing engineering of the EMC3 Commuter has its humble beginnings rooted in the ingenuity of an American family. It all began as a summer project between our company founder and CEO, David Joner, his 11-year-old son, Cody, and his 9-year-old daughter, Marissa. David’s passion ignited into flame as another member of the Joner clan, Bruno, was recruited to bring his engineering expertise to the project; and the design team was later joined by Pete Brewer, Forrest Page, and several other design engineers from around the country and the world. Though many scoffed at the 3-wheel project car, the group at ECO Motor Company and their young helpers knew that they had a prototype for something truly revolutionary; something radically different than anything on the market at the time. The team knew that is was not just a new kind of car…but a new kind of thinking. Today: Several companies around the world have been involved in the development and building of the new EMC3 Commuter. After many years, prototypes, and refinements - ECO Motor Company’s EMC3 Commuter is now poised to take the world by storm with a stylish two-seater vehicle that gets over 60 miles per gallon. We consciously chose to develop our new breed of vehicle with the classification of “motorcycle,” yet with the side-by-side seating and comfort of a car that makes no compromises in the arena of automotive industry safety standards. The EMC3’s motorcycle classification allows drivers in most U.S. states to use carpool lanes…even when driving solo: a handy feature that no ordinary car can offer. The EMC3 Commuter is the perfect marriage of style, acceleration, handling, and economy.
