EcoMatters Environment Trust was established in 2002 and works alongside communities to deliver environmental initiatives with key entities such as Auckland Council, the Ministry for the Environment, philanthropic funders, and other not-for-profit and community groups. Programmes include; Healthy Waters & Community, Pest & Predator Free, Community Nursery, Weed Bins, Love Your Neighbourhood, Te Hau o Te Whau ● Bikes; a Tāmaki Makaurau wide team responsible for operating the city’s nine EcoMatters Bike hubs ● Resources (Waste); this team co-ordinates E-waste, Recycle with Us, Composting, Zero Waste events and Get It Right on Bin Day initiatives ● Food; a team dedicated to the Hope Teaching Garden, New Lynn Organic Teaching Garden, Kai Whau and Love Food Hate Waste programmes ● Communication Marketing & Events; a specialist team partnering to promote the organization’s initiatives through the annual EcoFest Festival, Street Art Bike Challenge, Love Your Place Awards, Tāmaki Makaurau Zero Waste Awards and much more.
