Economic Growth Corporation (GROWTH) is a community-based development organization dedicated to revitalizing low-income communities across the nation. GROWTH is a 501(c)3 nonprofit committed to enhancing the economic vitality and image of low-income communities in need of jobs, investment, and housing. To accomplish its mission, GROWTH operates through subsidiaries including Central States Development Partners, Inc., a certified CDE, Growth General Contracting, LLC, Home Base Property Management, LLC, various LLCs for multifamily development, Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), and serves as a HUD-approved housing counseling agency to effectively promote homeownership and financial literacy. Central States Development Partners, Inc., a national Community Development Entity, successfully secured seven consecutive federal allocations of New Market Tax Credits totaling $270 Million, along multiple state allocations from Illinois, Kentucky, and Nevada. This financing plays a critical role in advancing projects highly distressed areas, creating jobs, and improving the lives of low-income community residents. GROWTH's asset and property management subsidiary, Home Base Property Management, LLC, oversees 385 rental housing units and more than 40 commercial spaces in Illinois and Iowa, and plans to expand. Growth General Contracting, LLC, GROWTH's general contracting subsidiary, handles GROWTH's smaller housing and commercial developments, and has been responsible for more than $10.1 million in historic rehabilitation and new construction development. Through its single family rehab programs, GROWTH has impacted over 190 homes, improving aging housing stock and making these homes safer for the homeowners. GROWTH has helped more than 870 families achieve homeownership through and provided financial literacy and homeownership counseling to over 3,324 individuals.
