About Ecority

Ecority is an independent non-profit established to leverage and scale the EPA-administered Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). Ecority created a national lending intermediary to provide an efficient and cost effective way to distribute financial assistance for green lending. It represents a coalition that includes state and regional credit union leagues, a national network of community lenders, and the largest state green banks, including New York Green Bank and California’s Bank. As the only nationwide platform for delivering capital and financial support for greenhouse gas reduction, Ecority catalyzes the 4,686-strong, member-owned, not-for-profit credit union sector, its 90 year history of accountability, national grass-roots network of almost 17,000 community branches, and $2 trillion of low-cost, federally-insured capital--to leverage Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund grants 10 to 30X in its $14.9 billion application. By facilitating access to EPA grant funds by the largest and most diverse system of regulated, not-for -profit institutions in the United States, greenhouse gas emissions are reduced and eliminated, people save money and are healthier, and communities flourish and increase capacity through the social, economic and environmental benefits. Ecority’s program is design with priority to the Justice40 objectives and benefits to low-income, disadvantaged communities.
