Today, more than half of the world population lives in cities. This is projected to increase in the next few years. As cities get populated, more challenges arise. It has been observed that cities experience higher temperature compared to its surrounding areas. This is called the Urban Heat Island effect. We are ECOTEN, an engineering consultancy firm working on providing energy-efficient solutions for the built environment and developing mitigations strategies to reduce Urban Heat Island effect. We simulate buildings and urban designs to analyse results which are: Thermal Comfort Index, Wind Analysis, Air Temperature Distribution, Solar Radiation, Vegetation Impact, Building Material Impact etc. We also provide the following: Thermal Mapping, Solar Cadaster and other environmental studies made out of geospatial data. For complex simulations, we use code called SOLENE-microclimat. Our services are generally performed in the following manner in progressive order: -3D model creation of buildings in the neighbourhood; -Description of every surface with material, colour characteristic including greenery and water; -Boundary conditions weather data for the period of simulation; -Complex simulation combining solar and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models; -Study, analyse, organise, and present the results in various graphical interpretation; -Further optimisations depending on clients needs. ✚ Our Skills Experts Team: We are a team of qualified engineers with technical specialisation in architecture, building and environmental sciences.
