Edge SDN builds a robust zero trust security shield for industrial IoT networks. Edge SDN uses a central management console that oversees and manages the entire industrial network, supporting both standard OpenFlow SDN and non-SDN compatible switches. The console makes it easy to create custom security profiles for each device, implementing three main features: 1. Each device is isolated from the others on the network. If a host tries to scan the network, it will not detect other devices, as if it were the only one connected, effectively preventing network-wide scanning attempts. 2. By creating micro-segmentation rules, Edge SDN allows selective connectivity between IoT resources by enabling only specific protocols. 3.
