At Edinburgh Recovery House, we are committed to supporting our residents through their journey to recovery with a comprehensive Abstinence Based Programme based on the 12 Step Programme of Recovery. This approach is grounded in the belief that recovery from addiction is best achieved through completely abstaining from all addictive substances. Our programme is designed to help individuals break the cycle of addiction, rebuild their lives, and foster long-term recovery. Our abstinence based approach integrates the 12 Step Programme of Recovery with a variety of other therapeutic practices to address the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of addiction. By focusing on abstinence and the 12 Steps, we aim to help our residents develop the skills and resilience necessary to manage their lives without reliance on any substances. Our approach includes: Individual Coaching: Tailored one-on-one sessions that address personal challenges and promote self-understanding. Group Work: Peer support sessions that leverage shared experiences to foster a sense of community and mutual support. Educational Workshops: Sessions designed to provide residents with knowledge about the nature of addiction, its effects, and strategies for maintaining sobriety. Mindfulness and Wellbeing Activities: Practices that encourage mental health, stress management, and emotional regulation. Relapse Prevention Planning: Developing personalised strategies to identify and manage triggers and high-risk situations.
