About EDItEUR

EDItEUR is a not-for-profit membership organisation that develops, supports and promotes identifier, metadata and e-commerce standards for the global book, e-book, audiobook and serials supply chains. It is best-known for its ONIX for Books metadata standard, EDItX messaging and the Thema subject classification. The company is an acknowledged leader in global standards for the exchange of bibliographic information, identifiers and of e-commerce messages in the book and journal publishing sectors. Though based in London, it has a growing international membership of publishers, distributors, wholesalers, subscription agents, retailers, libraries, system vendors, rights organisations and trade associations spread across more than 25 countries. EDItEUR provides management services to the ISNI International Agency (www.isni.org) and the International DOI Foundation (www.doi.org). It previously provided management services to the International ISBN Agency (www.isbn-international.org), and it continues and works closely with other trade and standards bodies across the creative media industries. EDItEUR is active within the W3C's publishing activities, and within projects managed by some EDItEUR members.
