About Education Development Institute
The Education Development Institute (EDI) plays a vital role in the Qatar Foundation Pre-university Education (PUE) vision of Leading Learning. The areas of professional learning and development, curriculum, and coaching & leadership are the core of our work leading to student growth and achievement. We strive for a direct impact on over 1000 staff and 5000 students within Qatar Foundation Schools, and an even broader impact on educators and students across Qatar and the region. EDI strives to be a center of excellence in professional development and lifelong learning. We support the growth and development of the educational community within Qatar and internationally by hosting educational faculty, administrators, and staff who are seeking to engage in the best and most effective practices that improve student achievement. EDI is a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF), which is committed to building human capacity, empowering youth and equipping future generations. EDI believes that the best professional learning and development (PLD) for teachers is one where they connect and collaborate, delve into the core of their profession with clear learning objectives and link their professional learning to the reality of their classroom. We also believe that PLD should involve an application of teachers’ learning in their own context with a chance to give and receive feedback, to become genuine reflective practitioners. At EDI, we: 1- Lead Professional Learning and Development 2- Support Curriculum Improvement 3- Build Leadership Capacity
