About Educational Arts Team
Who We Are: The Educational Arts Team was founded in 1974 by a group of artists, educators, and youth development professionals who believed in the power of the arts to transform education. Over the past 50 years, we’ve left a lasting imprint on Jersey City and Hudson County—offering accessible, creative learning experiences through school-based residencies, workshops, public programming, and professional development for teachers. Our Mission: We engage young people with arts-based programs that connect creativity and critical thinking to stimulate personal growth and academic achievement. Our work makes learning more meaningful by placing the arts—storytelling, theater, visual expression—at the heart of the educational experience. Our Approach: We believe that all children should have the opportunity to think, create, reflect, and be heard within a community of engaged learners. In every program, we encourage students to explore themes, characters, and questions through interactive activities that promote empathy, communication, and self-expression. Our programs foster literacy, increase self-esteem, and help children build essential life skills—preparing them not only to succeed academically, but to thrive as thoughtful, creative members of their communities.
