About Educational Research Institute
The Educational Research Institute (IBE) is an institution conducting interdisciplinary research about the functioning and effectiveness of the education system and the labour market in Poland. The Institute participates in national and international research projects, prepares reports, expert opinions and carries out advisory functions. IBE is supervised by the Minister of National Education and employs over 130 researchers specialised in e.g. sociology, psychology, pedagogy, economy and political science. IBE cooperates with the Statistics Poland, the Central Examination Board, as well as with local government, schools, universities, non-governmental organizations and research centres in the country and abroad. In 2017, the Scientific Units Evaluation Committee granted the A-category to IBE for its scientific and creative achievements, its scientific potential and the practical outcomes of its activities. The Institute’s main research areas: - Lifelong learning and national qualifications framework; - Measurement and analysis of student educational achievements; - Relationship between educational system and the labour market; - Psychological and pedagogical foundations of school achievements; - Economic determinants of education; - Working conditions of teachers; - Institutional and legal aspects in education. PROJECTS: In the area of educational achievements of pupils: Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS), Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS); Within Erasmus+ programme: ConstructyVET, National Qualifications Framework (NQF-IN), EwasteR; Other projects: EXCEPT, ReferNet, Innovating History Education for All (IHEA), Integrated qualifications system, Monitoring careers of graduates, Language development in pre-school children.
