In 2024, the EdVisto Academy is expanding its offering with Pedagogical Events, including Speaking and Leadership Coaching Services, as well as Teacher Training Courses on Modern and Effective Pedagogies for a Digital World, while the EdVisto 3.0 product suite is being built for relaunch in 2025. EdVisto was created in partnership with Helsinki University in the Autumn of 2015, building on years of practical research seeking to develop modern teaching and learning methods for the 21st century. The result was born by combining the most ancient teaching method; storytelling, with modern technology for consuming and creating information; mobile videos and social media communication features. 'Educational Video Storytelling' continues to be the most powerful methodology, not only to teach from one generation to another, but for sparking the Creative Learning and Development process towards optional achievements in school-based education and beyond. EdVisto Academy's flagship product EdVisto is a web-based platform optimized for mobile devices that transforms key elements from global sharing and social platforms like YouTube and Facebook into a powerful learning method designed for the education sector. EdVisto focuses on the learning process that occurs during students’ creation of video stories in collaboration with others. Teachers take on the facilitator role and let students’ creativity and group dynamic be at the center, while collaboration is encouraged both locally and internationally through specific features that connect teachers and students across schools and countries.
