About EFESME aisbl
EFESME is the European SMEs voice in the lift industry, representing and defending at EU level the interests of SMEs operating in the lifts business. EFESME was created in April 2005 as we now count on 15 associations representing 14 EU Member States. Together with its members and experts, EFESME carries out a wide range of activities in support of European lift SMEs, not only from a technical-normative point of view. The areas in which EFESME is currently involved concerns the defence and promotion of European lift SMEs in the technical-normative field, digitalisation and cybersecurity in lift systems, as well as the constant commitment to develop standards and norms that are SME friendly, and to encourage an increasing participation of lift SMEs in the standardisation processed at all levels. The EFESME experts directly contribute to the work of the following Technical Committees in European at the global level: * CEN TC 10 - Lifts, escalators and moving walks * ETSI Smart Machine-to-Machine M2M * ISO TC 178 - Lifts, escalators and moving walks EFESME experts also participate to the Commission Expert Group on Lifts meetings, assisting the European Commission in the application of the Lifts Directive 2014/33/EU. EFESME intends to provide European Institutions with technical and informative support, offering a clear and comprehensive view about the manufacturing systems of lifts; it wishes to be actively involved in all technical and normative issues, which directly or indirectly affect European lift SMEs and their competitive position in the market.
