Brad Gornto first established Effectual Giving, LLC in 2010 with hope of starting new breed of planned giving consulting firm. Over his career as a Florida estate planning & tax attorney, Brad had witnessed too many well-conceived planned giving recommendations fail to become a reality - for the wrong reasons. Too often, development offices at charitable organizations lack the necessary budgetary resources and expertise to properly navigate the planned giving waters alone with their donors. Moreover, many of the donor's own well-intentioned professional advisors (attorneys, accountants and financial planners), who do need to be consulted before a planned giving recommendation is implemented, actually contribute to the demise of a particular planned gift simply because of his or her unfamiliarity with the field of planned giving. The mission of Effectual Giving is to help charitable organizations and philanthropic families navigate this "minefield" during the cultivation of major planned gifts. Effectual Giving will serve as a planned giving consultant to the charitable organization or a particular philanthropic family, depending of the facts of a particular case. Additionally, Effectual Giving will be called upon by private client/wealth offices at financial institutions, individual financial planners, trust companies, accountants and estate planning attorneys to assist a particular estate plan, solely for planned giving consulting services.
