About Egg and Feather

Egg and Feather offers quality editing, proofreading, and writing services. Val Serdy is the owner and editor. Val completed the University of Washington’s Editing Certification program in August 2010, and put that work into practice for various clients, including McGraw Hill, Blackwell PTSA, and authors Jennifer Shaw Wolf and D. Rebbitt. She has studied with extensively published authors at the Institute of Children’s Literature in Connecticut, and kept her skills fresh with courses from writers like Holly Lisle and Ann Gonzalez. Val has been passionate about children’s writing for years. As she writes a young adult novel and chooses quality literature for her young son, her love affair with stories continues to grow. Fiction isn’t Val's only passion. In her professional career as a Program Manager at Microsoft, and later Expedia, she wrote and edited technical and design specifications as well as educational documents. In addition to her passion (and her education) Val has over ten years’ experience editing and writing.
