About Egoli Magic Basketball
Welcome to Egoli Magic, a Johannesburg-based Club of the Basketball National League (BNL). Established in 1994 by Jose “Caby” Cabanelas, we are proud to have both senior men’s and women’s teams. The team is one of the most successful ever in the BNL, as it has won a record five championships in 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2021 for both women and men. At Egoli Magic, we are committed to growing the game of basketball on the continent. We run development clinics, launch basketball camps, and identify talented youths. We also establish links with selected schools locally and abroad to ensure the growth of the sport. As a Club, we are guided by our visionary Directors: Svetla Cabanelas, Lesego Molebatsi, Jose Da Costa Leite, and Florsheim “Florsh” Ngwenya. Their leadership and commitment to basketball have been instrumental in ensuring the success of our club.
