About Ekoagros
Ekoagros is a public institution, which is the only CB in Lithuania that carries out certification and control activities of organic production and the national quality agricultural and food products. Ekoagros has been established in 1997 by Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Health of Republic of Lithuania. Ekoagros more 20 years working by pursuing high-quality services, implementing effective measures for sustainable development of organic and national quality products, constantly raising the most advanced quality management system standards for institution and its activities, applying to all customers the principals of equivalence and fairness. Ekoagros meets LST EN ISO / IEC 17065:2012 standard and is accredited to certify organic plant, livestock, beekeeping, wild plant production, aquaculture, also processing of plant or animal origin food products and processes of production and handling of national quality agricultural and food products (NQP). Ekoagros is included into the list of approved CBs working in the EU. This approval allows Ekoagros to enter into contracts with economic entities and to inspect/certify them in accordance with the private standards such as Demeter, Bio Suisse, Naturland, CCPB, KRAV, VLOG "Ohne Gentechnik" and National Standard for Organic Products of China. From year 2017 Ekoagros is included in the list in Annex IV to Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008 and is recognized by EC as competent CB to carry out controls and issue certificates in third countries (RU, KZ, UA, BY, TJ) for the purpose of equivalence to EU organic regulations. From year 2017 Ekoagros is accredited certifying agent to perform certification activities on crops, wild crops and livestock and handling operations on behalf of USDA under the NOP. The accreditation is granted pursuant to the provisions of the Organic Foods Production Act of 1990 and the USDA organic regulations (7 CFR Part 205). Ekoagros is a member of the Quavera association, IFOAM EU and EOCC.
